Strength To Stand 08

January 19th-21st is Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and everyone is out of school.  So, we are going to the Strength To Stand conference in Pigeon Forge, TN.  Everyone that went last year had a blast!  Every morning and night we will take part in worship with great music, and a powerful speaker.  This year they will have one big concert on Sunday night with Kutless and TobyMac.  If you haven’t seen either of these groups, you will not want to miss them.  During our free time we will go to the NASCAR Speed Park, play some putt-putt, and visit the outlet mall.  The total cost is $99 and that pays for the conference registration and lodging for the weekend.  Everyone will be responsible for all their meals and any money they want to spend during free time.  A deposit of $50 is due on Wednesday, October 3rd.  We will have one fundraiser to alleviate some of the remaining cost.  We will be hosting an Italian dinner (donation only) for the church on Sunday, October 14th immediately following the morning worship.  In order to receive any benefit, the youth must work the fundraiser.  This will be a wonderful trip, so make sure to reserve your spot NOW!  You won’t want to be the one to miss out!

For more information on the conference itself go to www.strengthtostand.com and click on Smoky Mountain Student Bible Conference.

Favorite AT&T Commercial

This is my favorite commercial for AT&T. It is one of those dropped call commercials. By the way if you do have AT&T, you may want to go pick up a new updated SIM card for your phone. It makes a difference and there free.

TobyMac

Last night we went to Questapalooza to see TobyMac.  I have never been to a Quest service or anything else that they have had, but I must say that Quest had the whole thing very well organized.  I know that it took a lot of hard work and organization to pull something like this off.

Back to Toby… I have seen him many times before, but last night was a really good concert.  I am not sure if it has to do with the new CD or the fact that we had the kids with us.  Abby loved it!  She even got his autograph after the show.  Mason was mesmerized by the lights and the sounds.  He never cried, but I think he was wondering why he wasn’t at the NQC.  About half way through he fell asleep and slept the rest of the time.  If you ever get to see TobyMac in concert make sure that you don’t pass it up!
